The Men of Gatsby
The Men of Gatsby were all very different men who each had their own way of life. Mr. Jay Gatsby was a very different man who only really wanted one particular thing in his life, which was Daisy. When he first laid eyes on her he knew right then and there that Daisy was the one. But since Gatsby was serving in the war at the time, he wasn't able to see her and eventually Daisy moved on and married Tom. Gatsby never forgot about her. He even bought a house right across from her's on the opposite side of the water just so he could see her house. And in the evening he would stare at the green light that was in front of Daisy's house because he knew she was right there. He tried everything to get Daisy back, like buying the biggest house, owning the nicest things, and throwing the biggest parties, but Daisy truley did love Tom and couldnt leave him even though she also loved Gatsby just as much. Gatsby was just the type of man who always had to get his way, but in the end he never got his true love.
On the other hand, Tom got, and always had what he wanted which was Daisy. Tom was a selfish wealthy man who couldn't stand Mr. Gatsby because he new that he loved Daisy and she loved him back. He was also a flirty young fellow who cheated on Daisy with Myrtle. Even though what Tom was doing was wrong, he still didnt love Myrtle like he loved Daisy. Tom was sort of like gatsby in a way because he wanted Daisy to himself as well. But unlike Gatsby, Tom got what he wanted, which was to be with Daisy, and just love her unconditionally.
Another man was Nick. He was the total opposite of Tom and Gatsby. Nick wasnt a wealthy man who had all of the nice things they had. He was just a man who sold bonds and minded his own business. When he met Gatsby he didn't judge him or believe all the rumors about him, which made Gatsby and Nick become good friends. But just like Tom and Gatsby loved Daisy, Nick was falling in love with Jordan Baker. But when Gatsby died, Nick became very sad and only wanted to find peace with the situation.
As you can see, these three men are different in their own ways which makes the Men of Gatsby a very interesting and characterized group of people.

The Women of Gatsby
The Women of Gatsby have many similarities and differences. The main trait about all of these women is that they want money and love, but they all want it in a different way. Daisy is the main conflict of the story because she is in love with both Tom and Gatsby. Both of these men have a lot of money and love for her. But only Gatsby is willing to give Daisy his all and that makes Daisy torn between the two. She is also a very ditsy lady, who is lost in love btween both Gatsby and Tom.
Myrtle is also looking for a wealthy man who can provide a lavish lifestyle for her. She is cheating on her husband Mr. Wilson with Tom, Daisy's husband. Myrtle believes that Tom loves her, but really Tom loves Daisy even though what he's doing is wrong. She isn't happy with her poor husband, and that is the reason she is cheating on him with a wealthy man. This shows that Myrtle is very selfish and only cares about money.
On the other hand, Jordan Baker is only focused on one man, which is Nick. She doesn't care how much money he has. All she really cares about is her love and passion towards Nick. Even though Jordan is a wealthy woman, and is living a good life, she wouldn't mind being able to be with the one she loves even if he isn't as wealthy as Tom or Gatsby. Jordan shows that she isn't selfish like Daisy or Myrtle, which seems to be very uncommon in the Women of Gatsby.

selfish people
In "The Great Gatsby" selfishness plays a major role in certain peoples lifes. One of these people is Mr. Gatsby himself. Gatsby's love towards Daisy grew so strong that he couldn't handle the fact that she was married to Tom. That showed that all Gatsby cared about was him having Daisy all to himself, even though Daisy was in love with both Gatsby and Tom. It seemed that he just wouldn't except the fact that Daisy wanted to stay with Tom. That made Gatsby extremely jealous and just made him become even more selfish than he already was.
Tom on the other hand wants Daisy to himself as well, but at the same time Tom has a mistress. His mistress is named Myrtle but she is also married to Mr.Wilson. Because Tom notices Daisy's atttraction towards Gatsby, he investigates Gatsby to try a sabotage his chances with Daisy. But at the same time, since Tom has a mistress, Daisy can have a Mister. That just goes to show how selfish Tom is being over the whole situation.
Out of all the women, Myrtle is the most selfish. This is because of how she is trying to take Tom away from Daisy because she wants to be married to a wealthy man. She also wants to leave her husband, Mr. Wilson, so she can live a lavish life with Tom. In Myrtle's mind, she believes that tom will eventually leave his wife for her, which is wrong because even though Tom is having an affair, he still loves Daisy with all his heart. That shows how desperate Myrtle is and how selfish she is being just to become rich by taking Daisy's husband.
